Lessons are individual, last 50 minutes and take place at my studio.
Students must bring their instrument.
Amplification for electric instruments is available on the spot.
I provide support material in printed form and via Google Drive.
Lessons can be had in English, French or Portuguese.
Minimum age is 10 years old.
I am currently not making house-calls.
Lesson-pack payments are made in the beginning of each cycle.
One-time lesson payments are made upon lesson.
Interac and cash are accepted, receipt can be emitted upon request.
10% discount on 5-Lesson packs is only available for weekly schedules.
10-Lesson packs are only available for weekly schedules.
One-time lessons are subject to availability and yield scheduling priority to lesson-packs.
Lessons in packs are scheduled once weekly or once every two weeks; exceeding lessons would count as one-time lessons.
Student absence must be flagged at least 24h in advance or lesson will be lost.
Unfortunately, last-minute absences due to health issues cannot be redeemed.
There's a ceiling of 4 flagged absences per lesson-pack cycle. After that, all student absences will be lost.
Lessons are not transferable from one person to another, regardless of their connection or association.
Any lesson cancellation on the teacher's part will be compensated with a make-up lesson, as the student is ensured the full amount of hours purchased.
Mid-cycle cancellations on the student's part will receive no compensation, either in currency or by lesson transferal to another person.
Student's delay and/or early-leave, flagged or otherwise, will receive no compensation.
It is possible to put a lesson-pack on standby at any moment, without loss to the student, but certain conditions apply:
a) standby status will be active from the moment it is requested;
b) standby can only be requested once within a cycle;
c) requesting standby is only available for weekly schedules;
d) standby status voids redeeming of flagged absences in a week-to-flag ratio (see me for a clearer breakdown of this);
e) schedules on standby yield to active ones (this I reserve the right to regulate without notice);
f) if upon return from standby your previously occupied time slot is taken, its recovery is not ensured and your schedule must be readjusted.
Standby period doesn't have a fixed time limit, however, the remaining lessons that exceed one year from the moment of purchase (beginning of the lesson cycle) will be lost.
I am a gigging musician, which means I reserve the right to postpone lessons due to performance.
Of course, I will ensure this does not jeopardize students' development and/or study progress and, as mentioned, the student is ensured the full amount of hours purchased.
If you're driving, please note that parking must be done outside the building's parking lot, since it is reserved. Of course, I cannot ensure parking is available, but generally there is always room along the main road.
Those with allergies, be aware that there are cats in the apartment where lessons take place. They mostly stay in another room, but are free to circulate.
